My post two years ago included "Just found this quote from one of my old blogs...and it came at a really good time...things to always have:
"Patience for the grieving process,
loyalty to those who are there for me,
hope for the future,
faith in the bigger picture,
trust in myself to make the right decisions,
and most importantly…
love for myself regardless of the outcome."
I felt I needed to follow up.
I had patience...and I found peace.
I was loyal to those there for me at the time...and now I have a network there for me when I need it.
I had hope...and life is so much better than I imagined it could be.
I had faith...and I provided with my own family.
I trusted in myself...and ended up with a degree and a career.
But the loving myself? Still working on it.
Guess what...you don't have to be perfect. I'm still accepting that fact.
I love my life...but it takes some time to accept that loving life can stop equal working on yourself.
It doesn't mean you have it all together <3

ReplyDeleteYou're absolutely right, we do NOT have to have it all together. We are learning, we are going, we are walking, and somehow in someway we are getting there. We have passed survival mode. We have passed the desperation mode. We have left behind the rags of our past. We have left behind the empty promises, the left - over remains of broken realizations, screwed up pipe dreams and almost forgotten threats that told us we'd never be good enough. We beat the odds. We told ourselves we would make it, and we did. We pushed through the storm, we held steady through the rain, and then one day we stood on the other said and shouted, "HELL YES!" You have an AMAZING support system, because you know that you are worth so much more than those rags of the past. Your network is carefully chosen to remind you that your worth is intrinsic and based upon the what you do or who you have to be. You are worth everything simply because you are Katt. What a beautfil and wonderful thought to have. To be loved for being you. I certainly love you just for being you! I know they all do too :) I do not love myself in so many areas. The part of me that has these migraines? I hate it. I loathe it. I curse it. I cannot love it right now. one day I will. One day I will learn to accept and love it. It is a process, a learning cycle that will come to pass when the time comes. Please never change. Please keep on being the incredible YOU that you are. You are exactly what this world needs. Someone who won't take any shit, but yes still knows how to cry with the wounded. We need people who remember that empathy is not a weakness, but a gift. We need to remember that being strong is not an art form but rather a way to bear one another's burdens. We are to know that it takes FAR MORE strength to be gentle than it does to bull doze over people. Anyone can run someone over, but the one who stops in this rat race and stoops down to lift a hand to help them up shows the greater strength of character.
